Vilnius
Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania and with 540,000 inhabitants the largest town of the country. Vilnius is located at the mouth of the river Vilnia that empties here into the Neris. The old town of Vilnius has been inscribed on the list of UNESCO world cultural heritage since 1994 and is characterized by many architectural styles. Remarkable are the Saint Anne's Church, the Gothic Saint Bernard's Church, the baroque university plant with the Saint John's church as well as the Pointed Gate.
