Tehran
Teheran, the capital of Iran, is located in the south of the Alborz Mountains. The Shah Mosque and primarily the Golestan Palace date into the time of the Qajar dynasty. The former seat of the government today houses a museum, whose most famous exhibit undoubtedly is the Marble Throne. The Imam-Chomeini Mosque is located just a few steps away from the bazaar of Teheran. But Teheran has also modern attractions to offer, e.g. the Liberty Tower built in 1971, which should remind visitors of the 2500-year existence of the Iranian monarchy.
