The Hungarian city Pecs is called Fünfkirchen in German. Pecs, the fifth largest town of the country is a diocesan town and the centre of the so-called Donauschwaben. Pecs travellers are always keen to visit the cathedral as well as the early Christian cemetery which belongs to UNESCO heritage sites. The inhabitants of Pecs, who call themselves Tüke (= vine) are proud of the city’s mediterranean atmosphere.
