Donetsk
The Ukrainian city of Donetsk forms the centre of the coal-mining area Donbass and is correspondingly an important centre of heavy industry and coal mining. In the Second World War Donetsk was almost completely destroyed. Today the city presents itself as a typically Soviet town. The location of Donetsk in a steppe landscape surrounded by woods, hills and seas is outstanding. The Sea of Azov has always been a popular destination of the outing.
