China
The People's Republic of China is the most populous country in the world. Extensive plateaux, basin landscapes and hilly sceneries subdivide China into a variety of independent landscapes. Tourists love to see e.g. the cities of Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Canton, the Great Wall, the tomb of the first emperor Qin Shihuangdi with the famous terracotta army or the Tibetan Potala palace in Lhasa. All of these historic sites are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
