The Greek port Chania is located at the north-western coast of Crete. Chania, the ancient Kydonia, was conquered by the Venetians in the 13th century and went to the Turks in the 17th century. The lively old town of Chania offers charming alleys, Venetian and Turkish buildings, various restaurants, taverns and other shops. Emblem of the city of Chania is the covered market (Agora).
