Austria is a country which fascinates not only outdoor activists. The Alps of Austria are an ideal place for mountaineering, many lakes invite for taking a bath and the towns attract many tourists that are interested in art and culture. Impressive castles and splendid museums with valuable art treasures can primarily be found in Vienna and Salzburg. The Viennese café culture and cabaret scene is also typical for Austria. The capital of Austria is rich in sights. Don’t miss out on visiting the Hundertwasserhaus, the St. Stephens cathedral, the Schönbrunn Castle and the Hofburg, but also the Kunsthistorische Museum near the Ringstrasse, the Viennese Secession or the Spanish Riding Schools with the famous Lipizzaner stallions. However, other places in Austria have a lot to offer as well: Go to Innsbruck and have a look at the Golden Dachl, Ambrass castle or the Bergiselschanze. Together with Switzerland Austria will organize the football European Championship 2008. The Wörther See and the Neusiedlersee are ideal places to relax the mind.
