Aleppo is the second capital of Syria. These are some places of interest: The Aleppo Citadel, a marvelous example of arab militarily architecture, the Souqs and commercial khans, which date back to the 15th century and depict mediaeval life, and Rasafeh palace ( former residence of caliph Hisham ibn Abdul Malik). Other places to visit in Aleppo are for example the National Museum with relics from Ebla and Mari, l-Jami' al-Kabir (The Great Mosque) and many old hurches, mosques, baths and ancient houses.
