Agadir
Agadir is situated in the southwest of Morocco and is one of the most frequented touristy centres in northern Africa. Modern hotels not far from the wide sandy beach offer best service, comfortable rooms and an overwhelming view over the ocean. Tourists can not only discover the beautiful landscape and long beaches, but also the sights and museums of the city: for instance the Musée Municipal where craftwork from southern Morocco is exhibited. If you want to learn more about the old clan of the Berbers you must visit the Musée Bert Flint or the Museum of Berber Art. There are shown art objects, old costumes, carpets and commodities. A special experience is the Souk El Had, the main market of Agadir. Here you can get almost everything: spices, clothes or handcrafts. If you are interested in old architecture you should see the Kasbah of Agadir, an old fortress that was built to defend the Portuguese. Unfortunately it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1960.
